A novel by Mike Whicker

Don Swanson has had enough of fast times in the big city.  The long nights spent at Studio 54 have taken their toll; drug addiction and alcoholism have cost him his job, his marriage, and his mental well-being.

The time has come to leave New York behind in search of friendlier surroundings.  After several weeks of touring America's heartland, Don believes he has found the perfect place to live; a small hamlet on the banks of the Ohio River.

Problem is, the locals aren't too fond of this newcomer's style; the flashy clothes, shiny Cadillac, and good personal hygiene contrast sharply with their white-trash ways.

The year is 1979, and trouble is brewing in the tiny town of Cannelton, Indiana.

Will Don, with the help of his mischievous adopted stray Gussy Wayne, be able to survive and gain the acceptance of Cannelton's toothless inbreeds?  Read award winning author Mike Whicker's The Adventures of Don & Gussy Wayne to find out.
