A
Book for Every G.I.
a
note from Mike Whicker
A Book for Every G.I.
is an undertaking developed in response to the numerous requests for books I
have received from members of the US Army 1st Calvary currently
deployed in Baghdad. Off-duty diversions in Iraq are few, and reading materials
are popular among the troops. The goal of A Book for Every G.I. is to
allow our fighting men and women the opportunity to order a book of their
choice.
Eric Vonfuhrmann is my
partner in this campaign. Eric is a professor at the University of Southern
Indiana, a former Navy fighter pilot, and a veteran of the Korean War.
A Book for Every G.I.
does not center around books authored by me. Soldiers will choose a book from any
online bookseller: Borders.com, Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, etc.
This is a grass roots campaign intended to offer individual Americans the opportunity to buy a book for a US soldier in Iraq. A donation of $15.00 will send a book to a soldier fighting for us overseas.
For those who can help, make check payable to “A Book for Every G.I.” and mail to:
